Thankful for Free Checking

Banking/Personal Finance, Community, General Information

man and woman huggingThe holiday season is a good time to reflect on the things you’re thankful for, big and small. Take the time to reflect on what you have and find gratitude for even the little things. Whether you’ve had a big year of milestones or just want to find gratitude for the small stuff, now is the time to take stock of the good things in your life.

Milestones to celebrate

If you’ve hit a big milestone this year—in your career, your family life or your financial life—slow down and reflect on all it took to get there. You worked hard to achieve that milestone, and you can honor that achievement by finding gratitude for each step that got you there. Consider writing thank-you notes to the people that helped you along the way, or find a way to help someone else achieve a milestone of their own. You can help a friend, family member or a member of your local community by offering the same support you received to help you achieve your big goal.

Some big milestones are different. If you’ve achieved a health milestone or made it through a difficult time, you have just as much to be thankful for. Slow down and reflect on what you’ve gone through, how you’ve grown and how people gave back to you along the way.

Sometimes it’s the little things

Sometimes, smaller things actually make the biggest difference in our day-to-day lives. Maybe you finally upgraded your phone or computer, making it easier for you to work, bank or keep in touch on the go. Perhaps you have a cleaning service, delivery service or free Checking with eStatements to save you time and money. Or maybe you’re thankful for stability—when things are going well, we often forget to appreciate how lucky we are. So, stop and smell the proverbial flowers! Appreciate the job you like, enjoy waking up in beautiful San Diego or say thanks to loved ones for being in your life. Acknowledging things that help you day-to-day helps you stop sweating the small stuff.
