Credit unions make a difference because of you

Banking/Personal Finance, Financial Literacy, General Information

employees posing for a picture togetherCredit unions are member-owned, not-for-profit financial institutions created to benefit the communities they serve. Unlike many traditional banks, credit unions make it a priority to give back to their members, and often their communities, as part of their mission. As a result, banking with a credit union means that you’re helping make a difference in your community.

Mission Federal Credit Union began in 1961 to serve the educational community, and even though our membership opened to serve all San Diegans in 2003, we’ve maintained our commitment to support education, as well as our members. Mission Fed consistently prioritizes people over profit, offering Bottom Line Rates, lower fees and award-winning customer service every day. Because we reinvest our profits back into our products and community, Mission Fed members and San Diego County benefit from being a part of our credit union.

We give back to the San Diego community in a variety of ways, including partnering with local nonprofits and sponsoring events like Mission Federal ArtWalk, because we believe in supporting the communities that we serve. We partner with a number of educational organizations and other nonprofits to offer financial education, community support and more. Our award-winning Mission 2 $AVE Credit Union at School Program has helped over 4,300 students at 44 local schools learn about the value of money management and saving. Additionally, our Mission for Our Schools and Mission for Nonprofits Programs each offer a $25 donation to the approved nonprofit or local school of your choice when you open a new Checking Account and mention the program. We then thank you for participating and helping Mission Fed make a difference with a $25 gift to you.

We’re proud to be able make a difference in the community, but our true pride and joy is helping our members achieve the financial milestones that we call Mission Fed Moments. As a financial institution, we’re focused on making a difference in your financial success, and that means helping you reach your financial goals. Whether it’s helping you buy your first car, offering you the right loan so you can buy your dream house or facilitating better retirement savings, we’re here to help you every step of the way. Our knowledgeable staff can guide you and show you the tools you need on your way to achieving your Mission Fed Moment.

Whether we’re helping you in your financial life, or helping our San Diego community thrive, we’re so honored to be able make a difference in the lives of our community members. Because of your membership, we can help others achieve their Mission Fed Moments. Our $1 Million Mission Fed Money Match program also helps members with qualifying accounts by matching their credit or debit card purchases, and more. Whether you’re a member at our Escondido credit union location, our El Cajon credit union location, or any branch in between, it’s just one more way that Mission Fed says thank you to our members for being a part of the Mission Fed Family. Visit a branch, go online or call our Contact Center at 800.500.6328 to learn how we can make a Mission Fed Moment for you.
