SAN DIEGO, May 23, 2022 – Mission Fed Credit Union, the largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, announced that as part of its commitment to community, the organization is sponsoring “Make-A-Wish Mondays,” providing 20 Make-A-Wish kids with an unforgettable day at the ballpark with the San Diego Padres.
This sponsorship is another layer of the previously announced multi-year partnership between Mission Fed and the Padres through the 2023 season. Make-A-Wish kids and guests will join Mission Fed in the pre-game bell ringing ceremony, enjoy an on-field experience, receive goodie bags, and watch the game from a suite at Petco Park. Make-A-Wish Mondays will take place May 23, June 6, June 20, Aug. 8, and Sept. 5, 2022.
“We’re grateful to community partners like Mission Fed and the San Diego Padres for allowing our wish children to enjoy Make-A-Wish Mondays at the ballpark. Our goal is to provide kids with critical illnesses the chance to experience moments of pure joy and to feel hopeful about the future; opportunities like this help make that possible,” said Suzanne Husby, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish San Diego.
Since 1983, Make-A-Wish San Diego has granted more than 4,800 life-changing wishes for children in San Diego and Imperial Counties. At Make-A-Wish, the goal is simple: to come into a child’s life during a difficult time and provide hope and a needed break from the daily challenges they are forced to face. The wish experience provides a child with a sense of empowerment and hope for the future; it’s an opportunity for the child and their family to regain a sense of normalcy.
Make-A-Wish serves children from all areas of San Diego and Imperial Counties, families’ demographics span every socio-economic and ethnic group. No eligible child is ever turned away, and a family’s financial status, race, or religion has no bearing on whether a child will receive a wish.
