La Maestra Community Health Centers Holds Annual Gift and Toy Drive For Patients in Need

San Diegans Can Drop off Donations at any of the 35 Mission Fed Branches Across the County

SAN DIEGO – Nov. 1, 2022 – La Maestra Community Health Centers has teamed up with Mission Fed Credit Union for the annual Toy and Gift Drive to provide holiday joy for under-resourced patients. From Nov. 1 through Dec. 1, 2022, San Diegans can drop off toys and gifts at any Mission Fed branch. The collection boxes will be available at all 34 branches across San Diego County, and two boxes will be placed at Mission Fed’s corporate headquarters, located at 10325 Meanley Drive, San Diego, CA 92131. To find a Mission Fed branch location near you, please visit web.missionfed.com/branches.

La Maestra is seeking toys, books, and gifts for children ages 0 to 18. Items will be distributed to local patients at La Maestra’s El Cajon and City Heights locations.

Now more than ever, donations are needed to ensure that clients and patients from low-income, under-resourced communities will have at least one gift this holiday season. Every year, La Maestra employees, volunteers, and sponsors come together to provide heartfelt donations such as clothing, toys, and nutritious foods to help brighten the holidays. With support from the community, La Maestra will be able to continue to provide small gifts and needed household items to those who may not otherwise be able to afford gifts for their children.

“We are honored to have Mission Fed’s support again this year,” said Zara Marselian, Ph.D., FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of La Maestra Community Health Centers. “Our community has always been so positive in its response to assisting patients. This year, with the help of all of Mission Fed and our generous sponsors, we anticipate providing holiday joy to even more patients.”

At Mission Fed, giving back to the community is part of its DNA and double-bottom line birthright. The organization is here to enhance and improve the lives of all San Diegans and help build a stronger, kinder San Diego by giving back.
